The F-35 Lightning II for the Republic of Singapore
In 2019, the Republic of Singapore selected the F-35 as its next generation fighter jet, and in 2020 the United States government approved the sale of the F-35B to Singapore. Singapore has been a part of the F-35 program since 2003 when it joined as a Security Cooperation Participant.
Singapore’s program of record is twelve F-35 B-variant aircraft.
Basing decision has yet to be finalized.
2003: The Republic of Singapore joins the F-35 program as a Security Cooperation Participant.
2020: U.S. Congress approves sale of F-35B to Singapore
2026: The Republic of Singapore Air Force will take delivery of their first F-35B.
