Partnerships Soar at International Airshows

Creating an unprecedented fighter takes unprecedented collaboration. Global partnerships and technological innovation are the building blocks of the F-35 program. Developed, produced and supported by an international team of leading aerospace companies, the F-35 represents a new era of international collaboration and these global partnerships are essential to the success of the F-35 Lightning II.

  • Avalon Air Show, February 2015: Hundreds of thousands of visitors, including military officials, industry representatives and school children journeyed to the Avalon Air Show, held bi-annually in Geelong, Australia, to view exciting aerial displays and learn more about military and commercial aviation in Australia. For the first time at the Avalon Air Show, Lockheed Martin featured an interactive display focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Volunteers from the local Monash University in Victoria, Australia, and representatives from the Victorian Space and Science Education Center (VSSEC), were on hand to demonstrate the laws of physics and also brought along their Mars Rover replica and computer system to control the robot
  • Abbotsford Airshow, August 2014: F-35 partners gathered once again in Abbotsford, Canada, the “Raspberry Capital of Canada” – and not just for their famous raspberries. Every August more than 100,000 visitors, ranging from aviation enthusiasts and families, to political leaders and industry partners, flock to the Abbotsford Airshow to see a wide variety of static aircraft displays, exhibits and demonstrations. 
  • Royal International Air Tattoo and Farnborough International Airshow, July 2014: F-35 government and industry partners gathered on the world stage at the Royal International Air Tattoo and the Farnborough International Airshow to highlight the F-35's unprecedented capabilities and the importance of partnership.   • Danish Air Show, June 2014: Industry and government partners from around the globe gathered at the 2014 Danish Air Show in Karup, Denmark, to showcase state-of-the-art technologies, watch flying demonstrations, and discuss technology partnerships. At the Danish Air Show, Lockheed Martin hosted a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) tent to provide children with the opportunity to build their own Lego® F-35 aircraft and meet F-35 test pilots. In addition, college students from local Danish universities showcased their robotics programs to inspire and encourage youth to pursue STEM curriculum.
